THE DESIGN BRIEF
The project focused on transforming a private office cabin for a renowned financier into a sophisticated retreat, embodying the timeless elegance of English classic design. The client envisioned an interior reminiscent of a refined cigar room, seamlessly blending opulence with personal expression. A key element was a bespoke bookshelf designed to display the client’s extensive library and an eclectic array of artifacts collected from global travels. The result is a space that embraces maximalism—where every corner narrates a story, and thoughtfully curated details enhance the client’s professional and personal narrative.
THE PLAN
The office cabin adopts an open-plan configuration, thoughtfully divided into two distinct yet harmonious zones. One side features the working area, anchored by a tailor-made stately desk and an L-shaped bookshelf that functions both as practical storage and an elegant display for the client’s cherished collection. This bookshelf becomes a focal point, exhibiting books, collectibles, and curiosities in a visually engaging arrangement. Opposite the workspace lies the lounge area, designed for relaxation and informal meetings. It features a plush couch and two sophisticated armchairs arranged for conversation. A custom-crafted bar unit introduces a note of indulgence, perfectly aligning with the client’s refined tastes. Above the TV, a distinctive miniature theatre showcases 100 character figurines, adding whimsy and depth to the setting. Every furniture piece is bespoke, tailored to the client’s needs, ensuring unparalleled comfort and exclusivity.
THEME
Rooted in the English colonial classic style, the cabin exudes refined sophistication with a masculine undertone. The design palette features rich wood finishes, deep leather textures, and brass accents, evoking the ambiance of traditional cigar lounges. The maximalist concept is brought to life through an abundance of books, global artifacts, and the theatrical miniature display—each element adding to a richly layered, immersive atmosphere. The space celebrates craftsmanship, with every detail meticulously executed, from the handcrafted bar unit to the luxurious upholstery. The overall theme blends old-world charm with personal storytelling, creating a sanctuary where intellect, taste, and global sensibilities converge seamlessly.
